关于复旦大学大洛杉矶地区校友会
A non-profit alumni community for graduates of Fudan University and former Shanghai Medical University in Greater Los Angeles.
The Fudan University Alumni Association of Greater Los Angeles brings together graduates of Fudan and the former Shanghai Medical University who live and work across Southern California. We are a non-profit, volunteer-led chapter — registered as a 501(c) — supported by alumni who give their time across generations, professions, and class years.
Our work is the quiet kind: lectures hosted by accomplished alumni, monthly hikes and dinners, mentorship for students and recent arrivals, partnership with other regional alumni associations, and steady correspondence with our alma mater in Shanghai. We do not seek to be the loudest alumni community in California — only the warmest and the most enduring.
If you graduated from Fudan and have ever wished there were people in Los Angeles who remember the same campus, the same Wǔjiǎochǎng evenings, the same library that closes too early — we are that community.
复旦大学大洛杉矶地区校友会汇聚于南加州生活、工作的复旦大学及原上海医科大学校友。我们是经美国注册的非营利校友社团 501(c)，由不同年代、不同行业、不同班级的志愿者校友共同支撑。
所做之事，多在静处：邀请有学有识的校友主持讲座、组织登山与小聚、为学子与新到校友提供帮助、与其他校友会及地区社团合作、与上海母校长期保持联络。我们不愿做加州最喧嚣的校友会，只愿做最温厚、最持久的那一个。
若您毕业于复旦，曾在洛杉矶的某个夜晚想起五角场的灯火、图书馆的闭馆铃声、复旦园里走过的某一段石阶——这里就是你的同窗社团。
自由而无用的灵魂
Among Fudan students, the phrase 自由而无用 — "free and useless" — has been quietly carried for generations. It does not say uselessness is virtue. It says that the soul a great university aims to shape is one not chained to instrumental purpose: a soul free enough to read for its own sake, to argue without winning, to be moved by what cannot be quantified, to keep alive an inner life beyond résumé and outcome.
In a city like Los Angeles, where momentum is measured in deliverables, this is the inheritance we hope to keep — not in opposition to professional success, but as a quiet counterweight to its loudness. Fudan's seriousness about scholarship was never separable from a certain lightness of spirit, and we want that lightness to remain part of who we are, decades after graduation.
在复旦学生之间，"自由而无用"这五个字，几十年来低声相传。它并不是说无用即美德。它是说，一所好大学所要养成的，是一种不被实用所拘的灵魂——足够自由，可以为读书本身而读书，可以为意见而争而不在意输赢，可以为难以量化之物动情，可以在简历与功业之外，依旧守住一片精神的自留地。
在像洛杉矶这样一切以效率与成果衡量的城市里，这或许是我们最想守住的那一份复旦传承——并非与职业成就相对立，而是为它的喧嚣加一处沉静的对照。复旦对学问的执着，从来不曾离开一种心境的轻盈；那种轻盈，我们希望毕业多年之后，仍是我们之所以是我们的一部分。

复旦大学大洛杉矶地区校友会是在加利福尼亚州注册的非营利性团体，其前身是南加州复旦大学校友会。
加州大洛杉机地区作为复旦学子走出国门的重要一站，校友人数众多，专业涉猎广泛，各领域人材济济。本校友会立足于大洛杉机地区，面向生活、工作和学习在该地区的复旦大学及原上海医科大学的广大校友，旨在成为中美文化与学术交流的桥梁，协助校友们融入美国社会，希望成为各个年龄层的复旦人之间交流的家园。
我们定期举办登山踏青、移民法律、金融理财、聚餐交流、园艺花卉、亲子教育、音乐欣赏、校友文坛、棋牌游戏等丰富多彩的活动与讲座。
